Tabular Alumina, is a pure sintered corundum that does not add any additives such as MgO, B2O3, and shrinks completely. It has coarse crystals and a well-developed α-Al2O3 crystal structure. The content of Al2O3 is more than 99%. Normal specifications are as follows:

GOOD HIGH-TEMPERATURE THERMAL STABILITY.
Tabular Alumina is a pure sintered alpha-alumina ma- terial that has been fully densified by rapid-sintering without the use of sintering aids at temperatures in excess of 1900°C. Tabular Alumina has characteristic large, well de- veloped hexagonal tablet shaped alpha-alumina crystals. The excellent thermal volume stability and thermal shock character- istics can be attributed to its specific microstructure:low open porosity and large crystals with closed spherical pores,which are entrapped upon re-crystallization during rapid sintering.
